1999 consumer complaints show problems for Dodge Durango that needs recall for
proper fixing of the producing company. Ball joint problem is the common complain
for 1999. A certain customer experienced complete front wheel separation while
driving after the failure of ball joints control arms. Repairs for the failed
power steering exceed $2,500 but still the problem was not properly diagnosed.
In March 10, 2004, Dave of Union KY complained of rumbling noise coming from the
front.
Dodge dealer said the problem is in the tires. Replacement was done but still
it did not solve the problem. Further investigation show that the front suspension
is the chief cause of the noise. William of Pittsburgh owned a 1999 Dodge Durango
and complained of defects in the right front upper control arm assembly and the
right front ball joint. Replacement cost $763.45. Leroy of Castle Hills purchased
new tires hoping that a buffeting in the front end could be solved but in the
process he noticed the defect in the car's ball joints. Fixing cost exceed $600.00
including installation of new front end alignment.
