2001 Dodge Durango recall
In April 2001, the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration (NHTSA) released several list of auto safety recalls and
encouraged consumers to take action for the remedy of the defects Dodge Durango
produced from December 1998-January 1999 failed to comply with the requirements
of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety standard no. 209 regarding seat belt assemblies
including the front seat belt retractor.
Failure may result to unprotected passengers
in case of car crash. Another recall shows faulty manuals with missing instructions
for properly attaching
child restraint system's tether strap to the tether anchorage. Improper connection
of electric shift-transfer case into the gear causing the transfer case to end
up in the neutral is another defect.
