2003 Dodge Durango recall
On certain 2003 Dodge Durango models, the central timer module has an improperly
sized circuit board that could potentially cause the right headlamp low beam to
become inoperative. It could result to visibility problems which could increase
the risk of vehicle accidents. Remedy is replacement of the CTM. In 2004, 27,
586 SUVs including 2003 Dodge
Durango have instrument cluster circuit board capacitor that have potentials to
over heat causing fire in the instrument panel.
To solve the problem, notification
and removal of the capacitor from the circuit board should be done. NHTSA Recall
No. 03v528 reports the same defect. Transport Canada recall number 2002240 for
the same year model airs out inoperative right headlight due to an improperly
sized circuit board trace in the central timer module. Good thing the producing
company gave the proper remedy.
