2005 Dodge Durango
2005 presents five distinct and powerful level trims of Dodge Durango, the Durango
Sport with maximized interior cargo, the base model Durango SXT, the leathered
Durango SLT and Durango SLT Plus, and the standard four wheel drive Durango R/T.
Greater driving performance is offered by two powerful engines. The standard engine,
a 5.9-liter turbine with 245 horsepower and 335 lb-ft of torque, comes with an
additional 5 horsepower and 10 lb-ft of torque on Durango R/T models.
The new Next Generation 4.7-liter Magnum V8 with 235 horsepower and 295 lb-ft
of torque provides even more power, making Durango one of the most competitive
SUV in car market today. These powerful engines sustain the car’s ability to have
a maximum of 1,770 lbs towing capacity. Aside from that the part-time four-wheel
drive systems provide two-wheel-drive mode for normal driving, with a driver selectable
four-wheel-drive mode for slippery highways. Full-time four-wheel-drive system
is also available in all-wheel drive mode for easy operation of four-wheel-drive
at any given condition.
