Dodge Durango review
Dodge Durango is a 5-door wagon Sports utility vehicle with 5-7 passenger capacity in rear
or four wheel drive with four or five speed automatic transmission. It is based
on Dodge Dakota pickup truck which is smaller than a ford expedition and bigger
than a ford explorer. Available engine types are SOHC 12-valve 3.7-liter
V-6 rated at 210 hp and 235 lb-ft; SOHC 16-valve 4.7-liter V-8 producing 230 hp
and 290 lb-ft and the pushrod 16-valve 5.7-liter V-8 with 330 hp and 375 lb-ft.
In its first full year on the market, 150,000 cars were sold with price ranging
from $26,565 to $35,545.
However in 2002, sales fell to 106,925 due to economic changes. Competitors include
Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander and the traditional Ford Explorer and GMC Envoy.
Since 1998, its features have improved as shown in the yearly changes for each
model ranging from interior features including the slipping and folding third-row
seats for easy access and wider cargo space to the change in exterior features
including new paint scheme. Until now, Dodge Durango is in the process of further
change to provide excellent service to their valued costumers.
