Dodge Durango safety rating
Standing out among Dodge cars line-up is the 2004 Dodge Durango that received
the highest government frontal crash test rating of Five Stars for both driver
and front passenger safety. 2004 Dodge Durango features the largest brakes in
its class and a standard ABS braking system that reduces 60-0 mph braking distances
by 15 feet. Its octagonal front frame rail tips, with patented crush initiators,
are designed for more effective and consistent absorption of frontal impacts as
compared with other SUVs.
Also featured is a side curtain airbag system for all the three rows of seating
and the new air bag system that includes multistage front airbags and Occupant
Classification System (OCS) for the side front air bag of passengers. The OCS
is used to measure the activation or deactivation conditions of the passenger
side air bag based on the occupant's weight.
